Himley House Winter Wedding Photography

The wedding of Tracey & John

Getting married at Himley House, Dudley, West Midland

Sneak Peek – Just a few teasers……

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Tracey and John at the stunning Himley House situated between Kingswinford and Wombourne Just southwest of Birmingham in the West Midlands.  What made this wedding a little unusual was the days before it snowed and snowed so there was a TOTAL blanket of snow on the ground.  The view of Himley House in the snow was magnificent.

We arrived about 2 hours before the wedding, or about an earlier than we normally would, we spent that hour taking photos of Himley House in the snow and lots of detail shots.

The bride and Groom by the Christmas Tree at by the main staircase – this is why I love winter weddings.  Winter wedding photography has its own challenges including the cold, bright glare and the reluctance for couples to go outside for photos, but with winter weddings come Christmas weddings and all the associated bonuses that go with it.

The Christmas tree at Himley House looked amazing

The good news for us is that Tracey and John were excited about a winter wedding so when I suggested we went outside for a few wedding photos in the snow, they were more than happy to oblige !

This shot taken at the golf club was taken while it was snowing, we had another few inches of snow during the reception

I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek – Winter weddings are GREAT fun, so if your getting married in the winter, dont worry about the weather, if its cold and snowy it just makes for much prettier photos.

A couple of Black and White wedding photos

Hello there, dp here from www.davidpurslow.com – we provide upscale wedding photography for Worcestershire & West Midlands.

Today as well as other things I was putting the finishing touches to the story book wedding album for Lorraine and Mark whos wedding I shot last year.  The day of their wedding was a challenging one weather wise with high winds and rain throughout the day – but its that kind of challenge I think separates the men from the boys.

So while choosing images today there were 3 that stood out to me as great candidates for conversion to black and white photos, 1 is one of my favorite wedding photos from last year and is up on my website and was one I featured in the Gallery at Courtneys Bridal.

I just love these 3 photos, and they bring back good memories for me, ones where I was getting wet while lying on the floor in puddles of water to get the shot of the couple by the castle – but thats just all part of the job – its also why there is always a complete change of clothes in my camera bag 🙂

I cover weddings mainly in Worcestershire and the West Midlands however I am happy to travel pretty much anywhere in the UK for nice weddings that will create visually stunning photos 🙂 – you can find out more about my wedding photography here.

Also if you look at the post below (if your on the main page) or click this link if your not – Currently I am offering a MASSIVE DISCOUNT for couples looking for a wedding photographer in Worcestershire, Birmingham and a whole lot of other places around the Midlands, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. – The reason is that I have just moved to Worcestershire so am pretty much unknown here at the moment.

Right off to bed, hope you like these 3 photos, I think they made cracking black and white conversions.

Katie and Simon Wedding Album

Hello,

As I said in a previous post, I will be updating this blog fairly often. For the past couple of days I have been working on creating another album. Today I finished the wedding album of Katie and Simon.

This was a wedding from summer 07 and was a fantastic affair – Katie and Simon could’nt have picked a better day, the weather was perfect and there wedding was fantastic.

Katie and Simon’s wedding is a lesson on why you should carry backup equipment as when I arrived at the church one of my cameras (I always carry 3 with me) was DOA – Had I only had one or two cameras, I would have worried, 1 would have left me dead in the water, 2 would have left me without a backup incase I dropped the only working camera. As a rule of thumb, I always carry lots of spare equipment. Katie and Simon did not know anything about the DOA camera nor did they need to. I will write more about backup equipment and general equipment you should carry for a wedding in a future post.

Well I hope you enjoy the wedding album slide show.

Again, congratulations to Katie and Simon and thanks for choosing me to be a part of your day.
