Hey Look – it’s Liz from this weekends wedding

Stunning Testimonial from a bride in her wedding dress

This weekend saw us shoot an amazing wedding – Liz and Hayden were SO UP FOR PHOTOS that we ended up having a 16 and half hour day from the time we left till we got back to Hotel Jack.

At the end of the night, Liz did a quick video testimonial for us – the video was shot in the bar at Gellifawr while the disco was in full swing and Hayden was strutting his stuff on the dance floor.

Sorry for the shaky video !

Thanks Liz – your a star x

Oh you can see a few of the photos from the day just below this post !

Looks absolutely amazing. Cant stop myself from keep looking through it.

We knew it was going to be good but it out did my expectations, there is such a difference from seeing the photos on a computer screen and actually seeing them there in front of you printed.

You’ve put so much work into it and its truly paid off and we are really grateful, looking through the album is like re-liveing the day. So thank you so much!!

Lovley Comments from upcoming bride and groom – reportage wedding photography

Hello there,

One of the things I like most about the job I do is that I tend to make lots of friends – these are not the kind of jump infront of a bullet for you friends but these are great people who whenver you meet up say hi and have a good chitchat or who add you as facebook friends and keep in touch.  This is really nice because when your not well you get lots of hope your feeling better comments etc and it really does make you feel better – when I post a photo of Joshua, Soukie or Nikki or talk about my latest wedding etc – all my friends comment on them.

Well one such friend actually two friends are Imogen and Stephen – These guys are a couple whos wedding I am shooting in 2010.  Like many of the couples getting married these days they have embraced modern technology and have put up their own website and Imogen sent me a link to it and pointed me at a certain portion of the site – the portion that talked about their wedding photographer – that would be me………..

Here is an extract 🙂    I love reading this it gives me goosebumps all over.

Ever get that feeling, when someone tells you how much something is going to cost, that someone just switched off the gravity? That’s roughly the sense that I (Stephen) had when we found out what a decent wedding photographer was going to cost us.

Actually, to be fair, that is how I felt when I discovered what an indifferent wedding photographer was going to cost; when I found out what the cost of a really good one – one like David Purslow, for example – was going to be, I think I passed through the storm of panic and into the still waters beyond.

But then you only have to look at the work to realise one thing for sure: you don’t want an indifferent photographer. To our jaded tastes, as we went round wedding fair after wedding fair, it became easier and easier to spot the indifferent ones: the same tacky camera angles, the same – frankly – hackneyed poses, and so on, to the point where just a glance was enough to tell you most of what you needed to know. Which means that when you look at something that’s just that bit different, it’s hard to miss, as it just jumps out at you.

And David’s photographs do just that.

There’s no doubt about it, as well as being very good indeed, he’s also a relentless self-publicist! His customer relationship stuff is second to none – he has a Facebook presence, as well as an excellently designed website, with his own blog, and gallery of wedding photos. Sure, lots of photographers do that, but the impression you get of David’s work is that this is a man with a following. Prospective and past customers alike respond to his updates as they give us a hint of the life of the professional wedding photographer, and what’s even nicer is that he responds back. This is clearly someone who cares about his customers long after the cheque’s cleared in the bank and the last mother-in-law’s family group print has been posted off.

Thanks guys, Glad you feel that way.

Fantastic Testimonial from a recent wedding at Manorbier Castle

Hey there,

Just to let you know I have not disappeared into a black hole.  December is actually a pretty month for me as I have 4 weddings this month and about balls / xmas parties to shoot.  On top of all that I am still catching up on weddings from the summer and am just about 2/3rds of the way there in terms of cracking the album designs etc.

So today I just got back from The Druidstone Hotel which I visited ahead of my wedding there this weekend and received a FANTASTIC testimonial from one of my more challenging weddings this year.  The guys and the wedding itself was not the challenge, it was the weather, the wedding took place at the fabulous Manorbier Castle in Pembrokeshire West Wales in the middle of the winter storms we had and during all  the flooding.  I received a phone call on the morning of the wedding from Rachel from Seren Style,  The hair dresser who was doing Trudi’s hair – one of the benefits of being a wedding photographer in West Wales is its a pretty small place and most of ‘us’ know the rest of the ‘guys’ that work in the wedding industry.  Anyway Manorbier was all but cut off by the floods and Rachel found a way thru and called me to get there quick in case it flooded – I did pass cars that had been abandoned and left in floods by their owners.

I was determined to get to the wedding and shoot it, getting home would be my problem but I would not let the couple down, I even brought my hiking kit in case I needed to ditch my car (okay, I was in Nikki’s car so dont tell her 🙂

So today it was so nice to get home and find this lovely email waiting for me.  This is what the guys had to say.

Hi David!

After a torturous day of waiting to be able to sit down together and look at the pics we have just finished our oohs and ahhhhs and sniggers! We are so thrilled with the pictures and once again we are reminded how fantastic it was to have you there. Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the pictures and all have been commenting about what a great job you did and what a great guy you are. I think I will be hiding away this weekend to go through every picture in detail to work out how to narrow down our printing and album choices to less than all of them!

Thank you once again for being such a hero and the ultimate calm in the storm!
We are so honoured to say that our wedding photography was done by David Purslow!

Love n hugs
Trudi and Rob

Thanks guys

If you would like to see a few of the photos from Trudi and Rob’s wedding click here to visit the wedding photos from Manorbier Castle

You wont see this one there but Rob wanted a ‘funny’ group shot with his guests pulling strange faces – looking thru the photos when I got home I forgot I had snagged this one – it brought a huge smile to my face just like the lovely comments the guys sent me.

Just wanted to share and say I have not dropped off the planet

More soon,

West Wales Wedding Photographers Testimonial

Hello there guys, dp here from www.David

Today was a strange day for me, I spend the day at a funeral for my Uncle and my Cousin and helped carry and then lower Uncle Barney’s coffin into the ground. – A proud moment I shared with my cousins – Shaun, Jason and Paul.

So feeling a little down, I returned home and found an email saying someone had left a comment on the blog – I took a quick peek and was bowled over by the comments.

On my way up to the midlands for the funeral I stopped off and delivered an album to Lisa and Liam whos wedding I shot in the summer.

You can see a preview of what it looks like by clicking here

what an amazing Wedding Album! It really is beautiful and super stylish! Thank you for capturing the mood and the moment so well…I can’t wait to start showing everyone. So glad that it was you who shared our day…such a professional top class photographer and now our friend….

Lisa and Liam Sullivan.

I love to watch people the first time they look at the albums I deliver, I met up with Liam to deliver it and he had a quick look thru.  The reaction you get is what makes being a wedding photographer just about the best job in the whole wide world.

Many things were said in that short 10 minute meeting but the ones that stick in my mind are

‘The photos in the album are so much better than the photos on the website, the website does not do them justice’

‘We think that the cost of the photography was such good value’

I only wish I had seen Lisa’s face when she first saw her album but I am sure next time they are down my way we will hook up for a beer or two 🙂

Anyway, just wanted to share a few things with you on this strange day.
