Sneak Peek – The Wedding of Rachel & Nick

Hi there,

Just a quick sneak peek at the fabulous wedding I was honored to shoot this weekend down in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.

I had been looking forward to  this wedding for a very long time for many reasons,  Firstly the bride Rachel is the sister of a bride who’s wedding I shot 6 years ago so I was looking forward to seeing old friends again.  Secondly the couple were getting married at St Brides Hotel and Spa in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire which is the most spectacular wedding venue you can imagine.  Since I left West Wales around 4 years ago this would be my first opportunity get wedding photos at St Brides Hotel and I was praying for good weather – well the gods smiled on us as it was the picture prefect weather for a wedding at such a magnificent wedding venue.

The wedding was a small intimate affair and full of emotion.

Oxwich Bay Hotel Wedding Photography

Sneak Peek – Beach wedding of Colin and Jane

Just a quick sneak peek of the amazing wedding I shot yesterday down at the Oxwich Bay Hotel on the Gower in South Wales.  The Oxwich Bay Hotel is one of  my favorite beach wedding venues and this was the first time I got to photograph the all new wedding ceremony room.

The day was all about love and feeling, it was a small intimate wedding with a select couple of handfuls of guests but as Colin is a crazy mad photography nut, it was all about photography for him, this meant that the couple gave me lots of time to shoot all sorts of photos throughout the day and we even did beach side photos of every guest with their families etc, these were printed on the spot and given as wedding favors  – This was Jane’s idea who called up asking if we could do it for her guests so naturally we said yes ! – The guests seemed thrilled with the results.

A Sneak Peek – The amazing Turkish wedding celebration of Natalie and Dogan.

Hi there, I am on a bit of a roll at the moment with blog posts, they are like the number 10 bus – none for ages then 3 in a row.

A couple of weeks ago saw the team at David Purslow Photography  shooting the wedding of Natalie and Dogan, The team for the day was made up of my primary wedding assistant – Clare my  good friend Sean O’Shaughnessy (a Solihull based wedding & Portrait photographer) and myself – I needed a big team as this was a BIG BIG wedding.  Being a Turkish affair the numbers were huge, so the wedding took place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham – The Imperial suite is one of the largest venues in the west midlands – more about this a little later – but remember this is only a sneak peek !

The day started really early for us and her is Natalie our beautiful bride at the hairdressers

Pembrokeshire Wedding – Llys Meddyg – Behind the Scenes

Hello there,

Just a quick post today showing off one of my new toys,  This weekend saw Clare and myself down in Pembrokeshire for the wedding of Maria and Wayne, I have just offloaded the photos and will get to edit them shortly but having a quick sneak peek at them I came across this photo of Wayne, it was taken in the pub next door to Llys Meddyg about an hour before the wedding – I wanted to capture the charm and ambiance  of place so didnt want to use flash to destroy the photo, the light levels in there were pretty poor as it was 3pm on dark overcast day.

Here is one of the pictures,

pembrokeshire wedding photography

So although the photo looks nice and light and bright and airy it was infact very dark, the ISO setting for those more technical out there was 4000, and it was shot at 60th of a second at F2.8 – If you look at Wayne’s waistcoat,  you will see that his front was almost totally in shade, so without killing the nice atmosphere in the room I had Clare hold an improvised ICE LIGHT — our version is a 125 bulb workshop lamp and have the light just skim off his face.

Here is a pull back a few seconds later

behind the scenes weddding photography

Just wait till you see the photos we shot down on the beach ! – yep on a very snowy day in England Maria and Wayne braved sub 0 tempratures to head to the beach for some couple photos – they came out amazing…….
