The title should be Pembrokeshire Family Portraits With a bit of Zing !
Hello there, if you have been keeping an eye on my blog over the past few weeks you will know I spent a week in Venice with Yervant, possibly the best wedding photographer in the world !
Since my return its been chaos – I had so many print orders to complete and wedding albums as August was a crazy month for me, well I am just about caught up.
Then two days ago(Friday) Joshua started throwing up, he is allergic to Dairy but we are trying him slowly (under medical advice) and put it down to that – then Yesterday Nikki started throwing up – guess what – its a bug, and guess what I started doing today ????????? – you guessed it, feeling like crap and continusoly feeling like i am going to throw up also. The boy was up most of last night so I only managed a few hours sleep.
Why am I telling you all this ? – well today I had a family portrait shoot – I have been intouch with this family for a LONG time, they are a very much ‘outdoorsy’ family and this was GREAT for me as I want to introduce a new style of family portraits in Pembrokeshire and a new style of family portraits in West Wales.
The style is very heavly infulenced by Rob Heyman out of Brisbain Austrilia. Robs website is located at http://www.heymanphoto.com/portraits.htm and I have had the great pleasure of talking to him via skype on a couple of occasions.
Robs portraits really inspire me and for a long time I have been looking for the right people to break from the boring traditional type of family photo portraits you find all over Pembrokeshire, West Wales and the UK to be honest and today I got to PLAY.
So with only a few hours of sleep, feeling like crap, having had the squirts earlier in the day and only eating 1/2 a tin of beans on toast ALL day I set off to meet up with the guys.
Today in Pembrokeshire the weather was not at its best, it was great for photos, well the photos I had in mind – If I were to tell most of the people I know here in Pembrokeshire that I was going to shoot family portraits on the beach in almost storm conditions they would think I am mad ! – well mad I may be but the results were EXACTLY what I wanted – Funky, Different and Great family portraits shot on a beach with dramatic skys, huge seas and kids getting down and dirty in the mud !
Since I am not well I have not looked at all the pics, but I couldnt wait once I got home and opened up about a dozen images from the various different setups we shot.
Here they are, I hope you enjoy – As I have said many time, These family portraits were shot on a beach in Pembrokeshire, just outside of Fishguard in fact – It was raining, very windy, the lens kept getting covered in rain and sea spray – not you normal run of mill beach portraits.
Please feel free to drop me a line or comment on the photos, its the only thing about the blog I am unhappy with, I only get about 1 comment per hundred visitors 🙁
As always, if your in West Wales, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and looking for family portraits with a difference, give me a bell or drop me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
I havent really worked on the images other than a minor adjustment, I did b/w one of them 🙂 – The photos are pretty much as shot in the camera.
