Fiona and Olly Getting married at the Druidstone Hotel

Hey guys,  Its almost 2 am and I am just getting ready to go to bed but wanted to share a few pics with you from the most amazing wedding I was lucky enough to be asked to shoot today.

The wedding is why I love winter weddings – being a wedding photographer is a hard job at the best of times but a very rewarding one – and photographing winter weddings is actually something I really love and enjoy.  A winter wedding brings with it all its own magical challenges but it often brings the best of the weather albeit a little colder than the summer !

Well this is only a SNEAK PEEK – so no story here – more will follow !

All I will say is that the wedding took place at the fantastic Druidstone Hotel in Pembrokeshire – if your planning a spectacular wedding then the Druidstone sure fits that bill 100% and its a photographers dream – combine this with the most pleasant and helpful staff you could wish to find and your on to a winner.

Well today was all about Fiona and Olly – Their wedding was AMAZING – check out just a very quick selection of photographs.  (I only got back a couple of hours ago and have been offloading cards since)

The first photo will require you to scroll to the right but it will be worth it, this shows you just what a magnificant venue The Druidstone is for weddings.

Hi David – I just stumbled upon your blog. I was in the Druidstone having tea and cakes on Friday whilst on holiday in Littlehaven. Such a lovely place – and you’ve got some great images here – they B&G will be really pleased with these I’m sure. Kevin

Fantastic Testimonial from a recent wedding at Manorbier Castle

Hey there,

Just to let you know I have not disappeared into a black hole.  December is actually a pretty month for me as I have 4 weddings this month and about balls / xmas parties to shoot.  On top of all that I am still catching up on weddings from the summer and am just about 2/3rds of the way there in terms of cracking the album designs etc.

So today I just got back from The Druidstone Hotel which I visited ahead of my wedding there this weekend and received a FANTASTIC testimonial from one of my more challenging weddings this year.  The guys and the wedding itself was not the challenge, it was the weather, the wedding took place at the fabulous Manorbier Castle in Pembrokeshire West Wales in the middle of the winter storms we had and during all  the flooding.  I received a phone call on the morning of the wedding from Rachel from Seren Style,  The hair dresser who was doing Trudi’s hair – one of the benefits of being a wedding photographer in West Wales is its a pretty small place and most of ‘us’ know the rest of the ‘guys’ that work in the wedding industry.  Anyway Manorbier was all but cut off by the floods and Rachel found a way thru and called me to get there quick in case it flooded – I did pass cars that had been abandoned and left in floods by their owners.

I was determined to get to the wedding and shoot it, getting home would be my problem but I would not let the couple down, I even brought my hiking kit in case I needed to ditch my car (okay, I was in Nikki’s car so dont tell her 🙂

So today it was so nice to get home and find this lovely email waiting for me.  This is what the guys had to say.

Hi David!

After a torturous day of waiting to be able to sit down together and look at the pics we have just finished our oohs and ahhhhs and sniggers! We are so thrilled with the pictures and once again we are reminded how fantastic it was to have you there. Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the pictures and all have been commenting about what a great job you did and what a great guy you are. I think I will be hiding away this weekend to go through every picture in detail to work out how to narrow down our printing and album choices to less than all of them!

Thank you once again for being such a hero and the ultimate calm in the storm!
We are so honoured to say that our wedding photography was done by David Purslow!

Love n hugs

Thanks guys

If you would like to see a few of the photos from Trudi and Rob’s wedding click here to visit the wedding photos from Manorbier Castle

You wont see this one there but Rob wanted a ‘funny’ group shot with his guests pulling strange faces – looking thru the photos when I got home I forgot I had snagged this one – it brought a huge smile to my face just like the lovely comments the guys sent me.

West Wales Wedding Photographers Testimonial

Hello there guys, dp here from www.David Purslow.com

Today was a strange day for me, I spend the day at a funeral for my Uncle and my Cousin and helped carry and then lower Uncle Barney’s coffin into the ground. – A proud moment I shared with my cousins – Shaun, Jason and Paul.

So feeling a little down, I returned home and found an email saying someone had left a comment on the blog – I took a quick peek and was bowled over by the comments.

On my way up to the midlands for the funeral I stopped off and delivered an album to Lisa and Liam whos wedding I shot in the summer.

You can see a preview of what it looks like by clicking here

David,David,David,

WOW,WOW,WOW,

what an amazing Wedding Album! It really is beautiful and super stylish! Thank you for capturing the mood and the moment so well…I can’t wait to start showing everyone. So glad that it was you who shared our day…such a professional top class photographer and now our friend….

Lisa and Liam Sullivan.

I love to watch people the first time they look at the albums I deliver, I met up with Liam to deliver it and he had a quick look thru.  The reaction you get is what makes being a wedding photographer just about the best job in the whole wide world.

Many things were said in that short 10 minute meeting but the ones that stick in my mind are

‘The photos in the album are so much better than the photos on the website, the website does not do them justice’

&

‘We think that the cost of the photography was such good value’

I only wish I had seen Lisa’s face when she first saw her album but I am sure next time they are down my way we will hook up for a beer or two 🙂

Anyway, just wanted to share a few things with you on this strange day.

Manorbier Castle Wedding – Sneak Peek – Trudi & Rob

Hey there everyone, dp here from www.davidpurslow.com

Today I had the pleasure of shooting a fab little wedding at Manorbier Castle.  As you know today the UK was hit by the worst storm of the year so far and it was pretty wet and pretty windy.

I managed to get a 5 minute window where the rain eased off and I managed to get outside and shoot a couple of pictures of Manorbier Castle itself.   Manorbier Castle is an amazing wedding venue for small intimate weddings and Rob & Trudi’s wedding felt very special there.

I will add a few more pics soon but I wanted to show the Castle pics quickly as I thought myself fortunate to manage to grab them and I have a couple of brides who are planning on getting married at Manorbier Castle and I wanted to show come rain or shine its one amazing venue.
