If your a regular blog stalker you will know I try to focus on a different aspect of each wedding. If you new to me and found this via the search engine, check out the rest of my weddings on the blog or visit my website to see what I mean.
Carrie and Alex’s wedding was from my point of view A TOTAL BLAST – These guys were my perfect clients and I think the photos really show it. As you will know I am not a traditional type of photographer and I am at my best when my couples are looking for a more relaxed style to their wedding photos. – That means this blog entry will also be slightly different. There are 50 photos in the blog entry to start off with and most of them take place either during the wedding or on the beach !
The wedding was taking place at the stunning Gellifawr Hotel in Pembrokeshire, Fred and his staff there really look after the couples but they also take great care of the photographers which make my day easier. This was my second of my weddings at Gellifawr this year with a few more to come and I look forward to each and every one because I know the venue is great, the staff are great and all this lends itself to great wedding photos (which is what my clients want)

Carrie and Alex had booked me from Bridal prep till the start of the Wedding Breakfast so I arrived nice and early and went looking for the bride. Carrie was getting ready in one of the cottages on site at the hotel and when I arrived the bubbly was flowing freely (I took a cup of tea after all some people call this work) and set about shooting my bridal prep pics – I shot some great ones but I am not going to share them with you, this blog story is all about the bride and groom so we will concentrate on them (the couple has all the pics now so they will be peeking at them I am sure)
Shortly after I arrived a special delivery turned up for Carrie, a gift from the man she was going to marry in a few hours time.

And with a beautiful smile on her face, Carrie wasted no time in trying on the ear rings and necklace.

I then set about shooting a few detail shots for the album, here are a couple – The light in the rooms at Gwelli Fawr is amazing and I love the next photo.

and I used the bed a background for the ring shot

If you mooch around the blog you will find the Carrie and Alex sneak peek with more getting ready shots and some nice dress shots (which are great imho) . However since I want to concentrate the majority of the photos on the couple themselves this is the only dressing shot, I LOVE this photo because at this very moment, Carrie had just put the dress on and I had not talked to her yet, she was in her own little world just admiring the dress in the mirror – totally upstaged – The dress looked amazing on her.

So with Carrie’s preparation flying along without a hitch I went to find Alex and see what was going on there. All was peaceful when I arrived and the boys were just sat at the table.

What was going on was Alex was writing his speech – well just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s

One of the things I try to do as much as possible at a wedding and during my whole time with the wedding party is direct as LITTLE as possible and just capture what is happening – I had a prospective bride come& groom over yesterday who booked me but until she said, I had not realized that if the majority of my photos people are not looking at me or the camera they are just enjoying their day. I think that’s why a lot of my clients like my style of photography – its not about getting the perfect photo (like the corner of the tray in the photo above – had I been directing this I would have moved it) but its about getting the perfect moment. Alex was so deep in thought and concentrating so hard on his speech that if I had moved the tray the moment would have been lost.
shots like this naturally dont need any directing![]()

so lets jump to the wedding shall we – this is what I have really been waiting for…………..
It all started off with Carrie walking from her cottage to the main building – she was escorted by mum and best friend

meanwhile inside its was a a few minutes past when Carrie should have arrived and Alex was starting to look just a tad nervous

then some really funky music came on (its a private joke) everyone had a good laugh and a proud dad walked Carrie down the asyle
*** normally I show a couple of wedding photos but for Carrie and Alex I have decided to show TONS !!! – the reason is simple – this is what their day was about (this and the beach) and they enjoyed every second of the wedding – the expressions, the looks, the tender way Alex held Carrie’s hand (picture not shown), the fun, the laughter – this is what their wedding was about and this is what I HOPE my photos captured ***

now if someone asked me what love was all about, I would just tell the go peek at this blog post and look at the photos of the wedding and look at Carrie and Alex – If thats not love then there is no such thing.
Okay a few more of the more formal type of photos you do have to shoot so lets get them out of the way quickly and move on to more of Alex and Carrie in love![]()

Then Carrie and Alex do a runner

and we all head outside for the confetti shot

and then just a few ‘Casual Formals’ – I do have a version of the first one minus the tongue but I like it !

and the big group shot

Now I am actually going to to a bit of a time warp here, because we went off to the beach first (just the couple, myself and the best man) but I think the story will go better with a few shots from the sit down etc so here are a few more moments from the day.
Dad with this speech !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The happy couple moments before I left them to it, pretty much the last photo of the day.

Outside – A dude

and Alex’s Dad – A photographer ! – I was on my best behavior all day

and this baby was soooooooooooooo cute

So a big part of what the couple wanted was some beach photos with just them and the dog – since I LOVE to shoot this kind of stuff naturally I was delighted
we popped down the beach, we only had a short window before the sit down meal was being served and I had promised Fred I would get the couple back to Gellifawr for the wedding breakfast on time. – We made it with minutes to spare but we made it![]()

and I have played around a little with these two – I love beach wedding photography and when couples ask to go on the beach to have their wedding photos shot there its always like a bonus for the photographer![]()

and last but not least, I LOVE THIS SHOT !!!

Well I hope you have enjoyed this look at the wedding of Carrie and Alex, the day was fantastic and I hope the happy couple are delighted with their photos – I shall await an email or phone call. I know this has been a bit different without a lot of my normal artsy fartsy photos that I like to put in but I wanted to show you what the guts of wedding photography was all about and that’s capturing the love shared between two people as they become one couple.
Carrie, Alex, thanks so much for choosing me to be your photographer you guys rocked and your great people. Congratulations once again take to you soon,
Ciao

We (my wife Inge and me) met you in Sorrento Italy on your last day in the Hilton. Due to the time being, we forgot to ask your contact details!
